In 2010 Lucy graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in with a First Class Honours Degree and the Dove Memorial Prize for the highest mark degree of any 2010 graduate and the Ann Wyburd Prize for best lieder performed in final recitals. Lucy is currently a scholar on the prestigious Guildhall Opera Course under the tutelage of Susan McCulloch.
Lucy enjoys a varied career and performs across the UK as a recitalist and in operas and oratorios. She is also a prize winner having won many first places in music festivals, including winning the Mansfield Music & Drama Festival and Selston Music Festival on numerous occasions. This year Lucy has won the Simon Fletcher Charitable Trust Award, Best Song Prize and Overall 4th Place in the Mozart Singing Competition, A Countess of Munster Award and a Sybil Tutton Award administered by the Musicians Benevolent Fund. Last year Lucy was fortunate enough to win an Ian Fleming Charitable Award administered by the Musicians Benevolent Fund, the Southwell Choral Society Bursary, a Peggy Oldham Award and was a semi-finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Kiri Prize and was in the final 15 of 650 entrants.
In 2008, Lucy was placed second in the prestigious Derby Centenary Arts Competition, a competition for any instrument. She also won The Selston Music Festival achieving the Recital Prize, the Lieder Prize, the Puccini Celebration Trophy, The Operatic Aria prize and was awarded the County Cup from Nottinghamshire County Council for contribution to Music. In 2005, Lucy was the John Ogden Scholarship winner.
Operatic experience includes the roles Barbarina, Le Nozze di Figaro, British Youth Opera, 2011, Third Nymph, Euridice, British Youth Opera, 2010, Lucia, The Rape of Lucretia, Grimeborn Opera Festival, August 2010, Cis, Albert Herring, GSMD Opera June 2010, Soprano Chorus, Cherubin, Massenet, Ilia Idomeneo, Martha Martha, Irene Tamerlano, GSMD Opera Scenes, March 2010, Soprano Chorus, L'assedio di Calais, GSMD Opera, November 2009, Soprano Chorus, Macbeth, English Opera Singers, October 2009, Soprano Chorus, The Rake's Progress, British Youth Opera 2009, Soprano Chorus and Chorus Soloist, Cavalleria Rusticana, GSMD Chorus at The Barbican Centre and Cervia, Italy under Maestro Paolo Uomi.
Concert experience includes, The Creation (Haydn), Mass in D (Dvorak), Requiem (Faure), Gloria (Rutter), Magnificat (Rutter), Magnificat (Willcox), Come Ye Sons of Art (Purcell) The Messiah (Handel) and as part of the GSMD Chorus Beethoven's 9th Symphony under Sir Colin Davis, Verdi Requiem under Maestro Paolo Uomi and Belshazzar's Feast under Martyn Brabbins, all at the Barbican Centre.
Also a recital with the BBC Concert Orchestra as part of the Radio 2 Kiri Prize which was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in August 2010 and a recital alongside Sir Willard White in Southwell Minster.
